Today was the Middlesex Math Madness Tournament held at Memorial Elementary. Twenty- five teams from 9 different towns competed in a Math-Olympiad type tournament. Memorial was well represented with two fourth grade teams and two fifth grade teams. Burlington also had teams competing for Francis Wyman, Pine Glenn and Marshall Simmonds Middle schools.

Pictured below are the fabulous fifth grade teams. Rushil Patel was the highest scoring fifth grader in the individual event and tied with four other students for third- place in the individual competition. A nail biting tie-breaker determined the third-place winner would be from Tewksbury. One of the fifth grade teams was 1 point away from being tied for third place for the team event. Congrats to all the fourth and fifth graders!

We had some Memorial Alumni from Marshall Simmonds win top prizes. Max Samulka, 6th grade, won 2nd place for the individual event and the Marshall Simmonds team including Memorial Alumni, Kris Poirier -won 2nd place for the team event!

The other two winners were from Newton and Tewksbury

Top winning teams from Wilmington, Burlington, and Newton.
