National Geography Bee Comes to Memorial !!

National Geographic's renowned education program that challenges kids in grades 5-8 to learn about the world and how it works.

All 5th graders will participate in the first preliminary competition in a paper multiple choice test to determine who the top scorers will be in each homeroom on Wednesday, November 25th on the 1/2 day.

Students can practice by taking the Daily Quiz on the Nat Geo Bee website:

There will be 6 preliminary competitions between November 25th and January 31rst to reveal Memorial's Nat Geo Bee Champion who will compete in an Online National Qualifying Test to see if they will qualify to continue onto the county/state competition.

Kinesthetic Astronomy with Mr. Musselmen

5th Graders Look to the Stars

5th graders got to examine the night sky and recognize and identify patterns in the stars today in the Science Center's Star Lab today. Mr. Musselman was able to show the students what the sky looks like in a 24 hour period as well as the differences seen in the Summer and Night skies. This presentation kicks off Mrs. Burns Science unit on Earth, Moon and Stars.
